The event highlighted collaborations between Yorkshire-based academics and major industrial partners including GE Healthcare, DAISER, Abbott, and Paxman. From breakthrough MRI lung imaging technology to innovations in cardiovascular devices and digital health, the day demonstrated how our region is positioned at the forefront of health technology advancement.
We were pleased to welcome Abtisam Mohamed, MP for Sheffield Central, whose attendance coincided with the launch of the Government’s 10-Year Health Plan for England – underlining the vital role MedTech plays in the future of the NHS.
The afternoon sessions showcased the innovation pipeline supported by our EPSRC-funded programme, with 36 projects already receiving feasibility funding to bridge the gap between laboratory and marketplace. From bioactive glass to sustainable bio-polymers for medical devices, the range of innovation emerging from our region continues to grow.
The evening concluded with networking opportunities that enabled new connections and potential collaborations across the Yorkshire MedTech community.
