Verity Smith joined the team in June 2026 and plays a key role in the day-to-day coordination and delivery of the PBIAA translational research funding calls. She works closely with the whole team across Leeds and Sheffield and brings her experience of grant administration, liaising with a wide variety of stakeholders to support the application and award cycle, and a keen eye for detail.
Verity has extensive experience of working in administrative and project-based roles within the context of healthcare at the University of Leeds. She spent three years at the Coordinating Centre for the NIHR’s Clinical Research Network, combining her administrative support and project management skills. Most recently, Verity has supported The Response Study, an evaluation of the implementation of the new patient safety policy (PSIRF) across NHS England, working with six NHS Trusts as case-study sites.
